"World War I and America"
Spring Break 2017 visitors will be able to interact with the museum’s new temporary exhibit, “World War I and America”, sponsored by a grant received from the Library of America in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the National Endowment for the Humanities. April 6, 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of the United States’entrance into World War I. Patrons will have a chance to walk through a WWI trench, learn what life was like for the soldiers and how Owensboro’s Homefront helped the war effort. The exhibit will run from April 1st through November 11, 2017.
Time: 10:00AM-5:00PM
Location: Museum's First Floor

Kids in the Kitchen
The Junior League of Owensboro’s Kids in the Kitchen program will take a look back at Owensboro in 1917, during World War I and talk about the food rationing that occurred and about today’s food portion sizes. They’ll be serving whole wheat bread, fruit and veggies (without cooking) and talk about the importance of eating healthy foods to sustain strength and give energy…just like the soldiers of WWI required!
Time: 11:00AM-12:00PM
Location: First Floor Mammoth Lobby
