World War I and America
Visit and interact with the museum’s temporary exhibit, “World War I and America”, sponsored by a grant received from the Library of America in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the National Endowment for the Humanities. April 6, 2017 marked the 100th anniversary of the United States’entrance into World War I. Patrons will have a chance to walk through a WWI trench, learn what life was like for the soldiers and how Owensboro’s Homefront helped the war effort. The exhibit has been extended through October 31, 2019!

LIVE ANIMAL SHOW with Nurture to Nature and the Western Ky Raptor Center!
Visit with a live flying squirrel, red-tailed hawk and many more animals!! Owensboro's Nurture to Nature and the Western Kenutcky Raptor Center will be sharing some Kentucky native wildlife. You'll be able to see these critters close up AND learn about the role that each species plays in our ever-changing natural world!    Thanks you Nurture to Nature and Western Kentucky Raptor Center!!

Historic Coal Mine Tour - A Day in the Life of a 1930's Rudy Coal Mine Miner!
Historic Coal Mine Tour - A Day in the Life of a 1930's Rudy Coal Mine Miner! Put on a coal mine helmet and join us on a trip through the Rudy Coal Mine, an historic Daviess County coal mine featuring the history of coal mining in the 19th Century, along with the 1930's time period. This tour is included with admission, but space is limited. Please sign up at our admissions desk when you check into the museum. Enjoy the tour!
