Pi Day
a celebration of circles, the Greek letters that symbolize them, and the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Math enthusiasts all over the world celebrate Pi Day on March 14th, since, as everyone knows, Pi = 3.1415926535... an irrational number, meaning it will continue infinitely without repeating.   There’s nothing irrational about how to celebrate, however! In honor of the day, that purveyor of circular food, Pizza by the Guy, is donating 10% of all their pizza orders, whether dine in, carry out, or delivery, to the Owensboro Museum of Science and History!   Either location can take care of your Pi Day needs: 3115 Commonwealth Court #A1. 686-8603 1915 West Parrish Avenue. 685-4694   Visit the World Pi Day website at http://www.piday.org for more ideas on how to celebrate, and be sure to order a delicious pizza on March 14th from Pizza by the Guy. It’s as easy as pie!

A Bee's Life
Carol Mark of the Green Valley Beekeepers will teach us all about bees…things like: Who is in charge of the hive? How are bees able to communicate? What kind of memory do they have? How do they help us with food production? You’ll also learn about things like how to stay safe around bees, what types of things a beekeeper must know, and much more.   The really sweet part of the day will be the honey tasting! That’s right! Sample different flavors of honey, and learn why it doesn’t all look and taste the same. How sweet it is!
